This morning we had planned to go to Lynn's Paradise Cafe for breakfast. Before we could leave, Cooper tripped in the bathroom and hit his head. In addition, he chipped his front teeth. Poor baby! I will see if I can get a picture of the chipped teeth.... =(
We did make it to Lynn's for breakfast, after we checked with Grandma Janet about Cooper. Lynn's Paradise Cafe http://www.lynnsparadisecafe.com/ has been featured on the Today Show for being a great little diner. The breakfast was fantastic and the environment is crazy and eccentric! It was a lot of fun and Michael loved all of the statues outside of the restaurant. I wish we weren't leaving so that if any of you come to visit, we could take you there!
After breakfast, we headed to the Louisville Slugger Factory and Museum. http://www.sluggermuseum.org/ We took the tour and saw how they make the bats. It was pretty cool and Michael even got to hold some amazing bats. We had a great morning checking out some of the greatest sites that Louisville has to offer.

More fun in Kentucky!
Well, we had a great weekend in Kentucky. The weather was truly gorgeous. On Friday night Marko and I got to go on a date to Morton's Steak House in Louisville. Thanks to our friend, Amy, who bought us a gift card, we had a great time and great steaks at Morton's.
On Saturday morning we woke up and Marko had gotten the stomach bug from Michael. Saturday was not a fun day for Marko. Michael, Coop, and I had a birthday party to go to, so we headed to the store early to get Thatcher his gift. Then, we headed to the birthday party in the afternoon. Michael had a great time at the party - he got to decorate his own pumpkin and his own cupcake. It was perfect! When we got home, we watched the Bobcats game and were so happy that the Cats had another win! Yay - Go Cats!
On Sunday, Kellee and I headed to Bardstown for the Bardstown arts and crafts festival. http://www.visitbardstown.com/tourism/events.php It was a great little arts and crafts show and we had a good time walking around. I got a cute sign for our front yard for Halloween and a fleur de lis necklace charm. The fleur de lis is a symbol for old Louisville, so I bought it as a Louisville reminder.
Colin is arriving today on his way through to Virginia. Colin LOVES sugar cookies so the boys and I made some more this afternoon for him. We made pumpkins and bats today and I think they turned out pretty cute again!
We are looking forward to seeing Abbie and Sally this weekend as they are driving from New Hampshire to Montana. There are some cool things to see around us, so we'll try to show them the sites!

Halloween Cookies!
I had to take the day off of work today because I had a doctor's appointment, so I figured it was a good day for making Halloween Cookies. I have never, ever varied from the traditional orange pumpkins with chocolate chip faces...... that is until today. Michael begged for bats, and I figured I had to give into him. We actually made the dough last night and then rolled out the cookies today. Thatcher came over to frost the cookies with Michael and after about 4 cookies each (and hundreds of sprinkles and m&ms consumed by two little boys) I kicked them out of the kitchen and finished the rest of the cookies up. Here are some pictures from our day!

Birthday fun
Well, we have now celebrated two birthdays this week and it was a lot of fun! Michael had his party at Blazers, which is a big place with tons of inflatables. The kids had an awesome time, and so did the adults! Michael was of course totally spoiled with gifts from his friends. It was a great party for a great kid!
On Monday night, we celebrated Michael's birthday as family. He opened his gifts from everyone and the living room looked like it was Christmas! He tried out his new scooter and then we went to Ginza, a Japanese Hibachi restaurant, for his birthday dinner. He was quite the charmer at dinner telling the people at our table that he was already married. Funny kid!
It's definitely a good birthday present for myself to have Michael's birthday so close to mine! On Friday, the students at school were super sweet about all telling me happy birthday and making cards and treats! It was a great day at school. After school, Marko and the boys came to meet me and we went up to Louisville for the annual St. James Art Show. http://www.stjamescourtartshow.com/ It was pretty crowded, but it was a gorgeous fall day and we had a good time walking around and checking out everything for sale.
We had planned to go to dinner after the art show, but instead we ended up having corn dogs and kettle corn at the art show and eating outside. It was truly a pefect day! Marko bought me a Kindle and as soon as the boys went to bed, I tried that out.... love it!
It was a great birthday week all around...... and now the packing begins =(

Hinton's Pumpkin Patch
The boys' school had a field trip today to Hinton's Pumpkin Patch. http://www.hintonsorchard.com/index.asp We rode to the Pumpkin Patch with our neighbors, and very good friends, Kellee and Thatcher. On the way there the big boys were cranky, but Kellee and I didn't care for three reasons: 1. We had Starbucks 2. We got to sleep in 3. We had both taken the day off of work. Um, yep, all three of those things make me happy. Oh, and I forgot reason #4 - It was and still is a truly gorgeous fall day today!
We got to the pumpkin patch and the boys got right to playing. I snapped this picture of Cooper and I think it might be the cutest picture of him, ever!

There were tunnels, slides, a silo with corn, tractors, tires, and all sorts of fun stuff to play in!
After the kids had time to play, then it was time to take a hay wagon ride through the farm. Mr. Hinton told the kids about apples, peaches, and pumpkins. We stopped a few times along the ride to see some fruits, and then finally each kid got to pick out his or her own pumpkin. The big boys were in seventh heaven, and the little man was just happy to be out and about!
I love this smile! He's so happy with his pumpkin!
We got back on the hay wagon and rode back to the little farm store. The kids got to check out the apple cleaning machine, they got to sample some yummy apple cider, and then they got a little bag of apples. The boys thought the apples looked too delicious to wait until they got home, so all three ate their apples in the store.
After the field trip was over, we took the boys to Chik-fil-a for some yummy lunch, play time for them, and time for Kellee and me to chat. My boys are both sleeping now and I'm just happy I had the day off to play with them and enjoy their field trip!

Just updating
Well, I planned to write this entry on Saturday about how I love Saturdays with no plans. And, then Saturday got away from me. And, then Sunday, too! It's now Monday night and the only reason I am still awake right now is that the boys have a field trip to the pumpkin patch tomorrow so we don't have to leave our house until 8:45, instead of 6:15. HEAVEN!!!!!!
So, Marko left last Tuesday to go to Wyoming to hunt antelope. He was supposed to come home on this Weds, but his grandma passed away on Saturday afternoon. This, is of course, an event of mixed emotions. I know that everyone is relieved that she is no longer suffering, yet, it is still difficult to know that she is gone. The memorial service will be on Thursday, and because Marko was already in Wyoming, he was able to get to Montana without too much trouble.

I am going to post a few pictures of the boys playing in the bathtub on Saturday morning. I also had some cute boating pictures that I had never posted here or on FB, so here they are! I really need to get the little C Man on video because he is starting to babble a lot more words! Hugs to everyone!

Girls have cooties
Some friends of ours came over to dinner tonight and the kids had a great time playing together. We all thought it was too funny, though, when the boys refused to sit on the girl side of the picnic table. Silly boys! They will regret that decision in about 13 years!
