Hinton's Pumpkin Patch

The boys' school had a field trip today to Hinton's Pumpkin Patch.  http://www.hintonsorchard.com/index.asp We rode to the Pumpkin Patch with our neighbors, and very good friends, Kellee and Thatcher.  On the way there the big boys were cranky, but Kellee and I didn't care for three reasons:  1.  We had Starbucks 2. We got to sleep in 3. We had both taken the day off of work.  Um, yep, all three of those things make me happy.  Oh, and I forgot reason #4 - It was and still is a truly gorgeous fall day today!

We got to the pumpkin patch and the boys got right to playing.  I snapped this picture of Cooper and I think it might be the cutest picture of him, ever!

There were tunnels, slides, a silo with corn, tractors, tires, and all sorts of fun stuff to play in!

After the kids had time to play, then it was time to take a hay wagon ride through the farm.  Mr. Hinton told the kids about apples, peaches, and pumpkins.  We stopped a few times along the ride to see some fruits, and then finally each kid got to pick out his or her own pumpkin.  The big boys were in seventh heaven, and the little man was just happy to be out and about!

I love this smile!  He's so happy with his pumpkin!

We got back on the hay wagon and rode back to the little farm store.  The kids got to check out the apple cleaning machine, they got to sample some yummy apple cider, and then they got a little bag of apples.  The boys thought the apples looked too delicious to wait until they got home, so all three ate their apples in the store.

After the field trip was over, we took the boys to Chik-fil-a for some yummy lunch, play time for them, and time for Kellee and me to chat.  My boys are both sleeping now and I'm just happy I had the day off to play with them and enjoy their field trip!

Just updating

Well, I planned to write this entry on Saturday about how I love Saturdays with no plans.  And, then Saturday got away from me.  And, then Sunday, too!  It's now Monday night and the only reason I am still awake right now is that the boys have a field trip to the pumpkin patch tomorrow so we don't have to leave our house until 8:45, instead of 6:15.  HEAVEN!!!!!!

So, Marko left last Tuesday to go to Wyoming to hunt antelope.  He was supposed to come home on this Weds, but his grandma passed away on Saturday afternoon.  This, is of course, an event of mixed emotions.  I know that everyone is relieved that she is no longer suffering, yet, it is still difficult to know that she is gone.  The memorial service will be on Thursday, and because Marko was already in Wyoming, he was able to get to Montana without too much trouble.

I am going to post a few pictures of the boys playing in the bathtub on Saturday morning. I also had some cute boating pictures that I had never posted here or on FB, so here they are! I really need to get the little C Man on video because he is starting to babble a lot more words!  Hugs to everyone!

Girls have cooties

Some friends of ours came over to dinner tonight and the kids had a great time playing together.  We all thought it was too funny, though, when the boys refused to sit on the girl side of the picnic table.  Silly boys!  They will regret that decision in about 13 years!

Welcome to our blog!

So, I used to blog on the big family blog but I had stopped that when Coop was born and then with the move and stuff, I've been out of the blogging world.  I thought that I'd create a new blog to share the adventures the 4 of us our having.

We had a fun family weekend.  It wasn't too eventful, but it was just a nice time to be together.  On Friday night we were supposed to go to the Bullitt Central football game.  The Cougars were playing their rival, Bullitt East, so this was a big deal.  Unfortunately, Michael and I were both sick and it was rainy and chilly so we decided we would be better off to stay home.  We played with the boys and then went to pick up Fazoli's and microwave popcorn.  We came and devoured our garlic breadsticks, food, and then watched a movie.  Marko and I tried to watch Invictus after the boys went to bed, but with "the coughs" as Michael calls it and my cough syrup, I was asleep by 9:45 and missed the second half of the movie!  Oops!

On Saturday morning we went to our weekly breakfast spot at Julie's for bagels, cinnamon rolls, and fruit.  Then afterwards we hit up the grocery store and came home to organize the garage.  Sounds super exciting, right?!?!?  We had a great time on Saturday night with our friends at Bluegrass Brewing Company in Louisville.  The food is great and so is the beer.  Even better we ate outside so all of our kids could be loud and nobody cared!  http://www.bbcbrew.com/

Today we went to breakfast at Panera and then we're having some friends over to bbq tonight.  Like I said a fairly uneventful weekend, but it felt great just to spend time with my three awesome boys.  Now if I could just get rid of "the coughs".

Oh, and one funny item.  This morning Michael told Marko that he still wants another baby and if it's a boy, he wants to name him Brandon.  This is completely random, as we don't even know anyone named Brandon.  Then Marko asked him what about a girl.  Of course, he told us that he wanted to name a girl Fiona.  He is so in love with Princess Fiona!
